Claude SEO — a free, open-source SEO toolkit for Claude Code (and what it found on our own site)
Building a site with AI is only half the job. Claude SEO adds audits, Core Web Vitals and AI-search checks to Claude Code. Here's what it found on bitlence.com.
If you build websites with AI or "vibe coding", you can get from idea to a beautiful, working site in an afternoon. But creating the website is only half the job.
The real question is: what happens after launch? Can Google find it? Can AI search tools understand it? Will anyone actually visit?

SEO is changing
Ranking on Google is no longer the whole story. Your website now has three audiences:
- Google finds and ranks your pages in search results.
- AI search — ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Google's AI Overviews — reads your content and quotes it in answers.
- People visit to learn, compare and take action.
All three need the same thing: a site that is fast, clearly structured and easy to understand. Your website needs to be understood — not just indexed.

Launching a website isn't the finish line
After launch you still need to check that search engines can crawl every page, that titles and descriptions make sense, that structured data is valid, that pages load quickly on a phone, and that AI tools can read and quote your content. Doing that by hand, page by page, is slow — so most people skip it.

Meet Claude SEO
Claude SEO is a free, open-source (MIT-licensed) SEO toolkit for Claude Code, built by AgriciDaniel. Version 2.4.2 includes 26 sub-skills and 19 specialist agents, plus optional extensions for tools like DataForSEO, Firecrawl and Matomo.
You run it inside Claude Code with commands like /seo audit https://yoursite.com. For a full audit, Claude starts specialist agents in parallel — technical, content, schema, performance, AI search and more — and combines their findings into one prioritised report with an SEO health score.

What does it actually check?
- Technical SEO — crawlability, indexing, redirects, security headers and robots.txt.
- Content — titles, meta descriptions, headings and content quality (E-E-A-T).
- Schema — structured data, so search engines and AI can understand your business and products.
- Sitemaps — whether every page that should be indexed is listed, and nothing else.
- Performance — page speed and Core Web Vitals.
- AI search readiness — whether your site can be understood and quoted by ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and AI Overviews.
- Images and agent readiness — alt text, sizes, and how well AI agents can use your pages and forms.
The point is to find the problems before they hurt your visibility.

New: the SEO Cockpit
The newest command, /seo-cockpit, brings your SEO data into one dashboard: audit results, Core Web Vitals, Search Console data, rankings and top queries, local SEO, and what you're spending on SEO APIs.

What it found on our own website
We ran a full audit on bitlence.com right after relaunching it — and it found real problems we had missed:
- Our old product websites were competing with our new product pages. Search engines and AI tools were crediting those domains instead of Bitlence. The fix was a 301 redirect on each old home page.
- Main headings without keywords. Our product pages had catchy headlines like "Track the hours you actually code" that never said what the product is. We added a short product line to each H1.
- Numbers that didn't agree. Different pages said 25, 25+ and 26 client websites. We now use one figure everywhere.
- Small technical issues — a security-header setting that logged a console error on every page, some low-contrast text, and caching rules that could be longer.
- Off-site gaps — searches like "web development company India" are dominated by directories, so being listed there matters as much as the website itself.
After the fixes, Lighthouse scores our key pages 100 for SEO, accessibility and best practices. Rankings take longer to move, but the site is now easy for Google and AI search to understand.
Who it's for
Claude SEO is worth a look if you build sites with Claude Code, run an agency that ships client websites, or maintain your own product pages. It doesn't replace judgement — some suggestions need a human decision, and a few depend on paid data APIs — but it turns a day of manual checking into a single command.
AI can help you build a beautiful website. AI plus SEO helps people actually find it.
