How much does a website cost in India in 2026?
Typical website prices in India in 2026 — from a simple business site to an online store or web app — plus the yearly costs most quotes leave out.
"How much does a website cost?" is the first question almost every client asks — and the honest answer is "it depends". That's not very useful when you're trying to plan a budget, so here's what it actually depends on, the typical ranges we see in India, and the costs that come after launch.
These are rough market ranges, not a quote. Every project should get a written scope and a fixed price before work starts.
What actually drives the price
The price of a website isn't about the number of pages. It's about:
- Design — a template with your logo, or a design made for your brand.
- Features — a contact form is simple; bookings, payments, user accounts or a member area are not.
- Content — who writes the text and supplies the photos, and how many pages need it.
- Integrations — payment gateways, CRMs, WhatsApp, shipping, accounting software.
- Technology — WordPress, a store on WooCommerce, or custom code in Laravel or React.
- Who builds it — a freelancer, a small studio or a large agency, and how much support comes with it.
Typical ranges in India

- Landing page or small brochure site (1–5 pages): roughly ₹10,000–₹40,000. Good for a new business that needs to be found and contacted.
- Business website (8–20 pages, custom design, WordPress): roughly ₹40,000–₹1,50,000. The most common choice for service businesses.
- Online store (WooCommerce or custom): roughly ₹75,000–₹3,00,000+, depending on products, payment and shipping rules.
- Custom web app or portal: usually ₹2,00,000 and up — booking systems, customer portals, dashboards and internal tools.
Cheaper options exist — DIY builders and ₹5,000 templates — but they usually cost more later in rework, slow pages and poor search visibility.
The yearly costs most quotes leave out
A website isn't a one-time purchase. Budget for these every year:

- Domain name — renewed every year.
- Hosting — shared hosting is cheap; a busy store or app needs more.
- SSL certificate — usually free today, but check it renews.
- Maintenance — updates, backups, security and fixes (here's what happens when a site isn't maintained).
- Premium plugins and themes — yearly licences for things like page builders, forms and SEO tools.
- Business email — Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, per user.
How to get an accurate quote
- Write down what the site must do — not how it should look. "Customers book a 30-minute slot and pay online" is more useful than "modern design".
- List the pages and say who will provide the text and photos.
- Share two or three websites you like — and what you like about them.
- Ask for a fixed price with a written scope, so you know exactly what's included.
- Ask what's included after launch — training, support, maintenance and who owns the site.
If two quotes are very different, the scope is usually different. Compare what's included, not just the number.
